"Mama, I need you!"

Each night after putting Abby to sleep, I hear, "Mama, I need you!"  This happens at least twice a night.  What she "needs" is for me to cover her up again with all 4 of her blankies in the order of pink, stripes, flowers, hearts.  So, the other night after going up 3 times I told her if she needs anything else to call for her Daddy.  She said, "Huh, Daddy?"  I said, "Yup, call for Daddy."  I was thinking she wouldn't really listen, but it was worth a try :)  I went back downstairs and after about 3 minutes we heard, "Daddy, I need you!"  Jason just looked at me so confused because he didn't hear my little plan over the monitor, which made it even better.  Whatever he did worked because we didn't hear from her again that night!

Fun at Roba's

Last Sunday was Teacher Appreciation Day at Roba's Tree Farm.  We can't pass that up when Jason plus one get in free!  It was a beautiful day for it.  Nana and Papa were able to join us for the fall fun.

A little picnic before we went in.

Abby didn't finish her banana, but insisted on carrying it with her.

I must say, this big pillow thing is A LOT of fun to bounce on.

Can you see Caden?

Enjoying some free donuts.

Pumpkin Preservation

I just read this tip in the Oct./Nov. issue of Country Woman:

Keep your jack-o'-lantern bright longer. Spray with a weak bleach solution to deter mold.  Then, to prevent the cut edges from drying out and shriveling, coat them with a thin layer of petroleum jelly.

I thought it might be worth a try!

Jason's Project

I got Jason a kit for making a mosaic stepping stone for Christmas.  He played around with the colored glass and came up with a really nice design.  As he did this project we discovered that the first initial of each of our names can spell "JACK" :)

I thought we would really have a problem with Caden getting his hands dirty, but he was really excited to help.

Abigail picked out her own outfit that day...

Race for the Cure

This past weekend most of Jason's side of the family gathered together for the Race for the Cure in Scranton.  We signed up for the 5K walk and pushed the kids in strollers.  It worked out really well.  Caden got out and ran for a few minutes.  This was the first time we did the race, but a lot of Jason's family has been doing it for years.  It was a lot of fun.

Caden, Jason, me, Jim (Papa), Carole (Nana), Abigail, Justine, Brooks, Katie, Cori, Amanda, Kara, and Katelyn

Before the race...looks like it started behind us though!
 Finishing the race.
J's dad has gotten the award for fastest time in his age group for the past I don't know how many years.  We took almost twice as long as him :)
Thanks, Carole, for the pictures!

Caden's 1st day of preschool (year 2)

He posed himself for this one...sometimes they turn out the best!

I have no words for the look on Abigail's face...
Abigail carried her pop tart around the whole time...she finally finished it on the wall (with Caden's help...you'll see below).
I had to quick capture this picture with the bus in the background.
This was one of the only pictures with his hood down...he said he was too cold to take his hood off earlier.

Pigtails

I forgot about these pictures from the beginning of July.  My mother-in-law mentioned pigtails, and I thought her hair might finally be long enough to try it.  She let me put pigtails in for about a week...
